Mardi Gras Colors
Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday is almost here. This means the Carnival season, which began on the Christian feasts of the Epiphany and which will end on March 5th, the day before Ash Wednesday, is about to kick into high gear. During the Carnival season you’ll see flags and decorations with the Mardi Gras colors purple, green and gold on buildings and, of course, during parades. If you want to keep a little bit of Mardi Gras in your house all year around, why not paint one or more rooms in your home with one of the colors? And if you are worried that the colors are too bright, keep in mind, you don’t have to color your entire room, an accent wall can open up your space and give your home a modern feel.
Purple
The Mardi Gras color purple symbolizes justice. Mystical Grape by Benjamim Moore is a perfect Mardi Gras shade for your home. It’s a deliciously saturated purple which conjures images of an evening on the terrace or balcony drinking vintage wine.
Green
Green represents faith. Benjamim Moore Peppermint Leaf is a bright green. This color is part of Color Preview which is a collection of bold, saturated colors that brings spaces to life for those looking to illuminate their world with pure, extraordinary color. A great complement to Classic Colors, Color Preview offers a collection of 1,232 hues that excite and inspire with pure, deep, clear colors that create striking combinations.
Gold
Gold signifies power. Benjamin Moore’s 2019 Mardi Gras Gold is as exuberant as the New Orleans carnival for which it is named, it’s a deep, bright orange suggests cheer and merry celebration.
Mardi Gras
Benjamin Moore even offers a color called Mardi Gras. It’s a kind of red which goes more towards the pink spectrum without being overly bright. This red is perfect for an accent wall and contemporary styles. It’s also a great color for a kid’s room. The color is not quite as dark as your typical Mardi Gras purple.
